There are so many things you have to remember in the first couple of years of your infants life. Baby vaccinations are no exception. Without the proper immunizations, your baby can be susceptible to a number of health conditions that we, as adults often take for granted. Vaccinations against: polio, pneumonia, measles, hep B, mumps, measles, etc — are very important to make sure they’re protected. Many of which only have to be administered once, then forgotten about for the rest of their lives.

Immunization Schedule

First 2 Months
*Hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, polio, PCV, pertussis.

Month 4
*Diphtheria, tetanus, polio, PCV (same as first baby vaccinations).

Month 6
*Same as month 4, along with another Hep B immunization.

Month 12
*HIB, chicken pox, MMR, PCV

Month 12-15
*Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and any other vaccinations recommended by your doctor/pediatrician.

Don’t Be Overwhelmed

This can all seem like a lot of baby vaccinations to put your infant through, but doing each of these immunizations on schedule will protect your infant for a lifetime. There of course will be other shots required at certain points in their lives, for a variety of ailments depending on the area you live and what viruses may show up at your child’s daycare/schools.

Many diseases that used to be common-place such as polio, chicken pox and diphtheria — are rarely even spoken of anymore because of proper immunization done in the first 18 months of a person’s life. By no means will baby vaccinations eliminate these infections entirely, but for the most part, few children will ever have to deal with them if you adhere to the outlined immunization schedule.
(Please Note: Most doctors, pediatricians and other healthcare providers will inform you of these needed visits ahead of time, along with any others that may pertain to the area you live in, or any cultural/race related illnesses that pertain to your baby.)
